My name is Wayne Schlicht. I live right here in Cape Coral, and my wife and I own property in the area, so I understand firsthand what a closed up home faces in this climate. The heat, the humidity, the storms, and the simple fact that a small problem becomes an expensive one fast when no one is watching. We do not check your home from a distance or send someone you have never met. When you work with us, you know the small family team walking through your door.

A family operation, by design

Lee County Home Watch is owned and run by my family, and that is on purpose. The three owners are my wife, our son Gregory, and I, and we bring complementary strengths.

My wife is a veteran and brings a background in business operations, organization, customer service, and process management. She has also been the designer behind every property we own. She makes sure inspections, client communication, scheduling, and the administrative side are handled professionally and consistently, so nothing falls through the cracks.

Gregory brings the hands on side. Over the years, he worked alongside us renovating and maintaining the homes our family owns, and he runs his own hospitality and property services company up north. He has a practical eye for a home’s condition and knows what to look for during a property visit.

My own part is the project management, technology, and systems side, along with years of experience owning and managing property. For more than two decades, I managed large, complex projects for major companies, the kind of work where nothing counted as finished until it was documented, verified, and reliable every single time. I hold the PMP certification, which is the project management profession’s standard for getting complex work done right.

Together, that gives you operational leadership, a careful eye in the field, real customer service, and steady property oversight. Because there are three of us, your home is never left waiting on a single person to be available, and you are never handed off to a stranger.

Built on years of caring for our own homes

This is not a theory for us. For over fifteen years, we have owned and managed rental property in Minnesota and Wisconsin. The three of us renovated a 1900 Victorian home in Hudson, Wisconsin, top to bottom, and it is now a mid-term rental we look after ourselves. We have lived the work of keeping homes safe, maintained, and ready, season after season, and we bring that same standard to watching yours.

The way we would want our own home watched

A lot of home watch comes down to one simple question. Did the person actually show up, walk the property, and look closely? We built this business so you never have to wonder. Every visit follows a consistent inspection process and produces a clear, timestamped report with photos and video, so you can see the condition of your home from anywhere in the world. If something is wrong, you hear about it right away, along with a plan to handle it.

Here, when you actually need us

Most home watch companies keep banker’s hours, Monday to Friday, eight to five. That has never made sense to us, because your home does not keep office hours, and neither do you. Many of our clients spend their summers in the Central time zone, an hour behind Florida, and a problem with your home does not wait for Monday morning.

So we built our hours around you. We are reachable Monday through Saturday, 8am to 7pm Eastern, with after hours emergency support when something cannot wait. Between an early riser and a team member who works later into the evening, there is almost always someone ready to pick up the phone, answer a text, or get to your home.
